There are plenty of ideas spreading about rednose Pit Bulls which are not true.
Rednose Pit Bulls are a different breed of Pit Bull
Rednose is nothing more then the dogs nose being red. All dogs no matter if they have a black, blue or red nose are American Pit Bull Terrier. Nose color doesn't denote a different breed.
Rednose Pit Bulls are extremely rare
Rednose Pit Bulls are not by any means rare, you can find many breeders who have rednose pups, you can find them in rescues or shelters, and some breeders breed mostly rednose dogs.
No one knows where rednose Pit Bulls came from
Rednose Pit Bulls came from the same place as any other Pit Bull, they share the same history because they are the same dog like a Chocolate lab and a black lab. Same breed different color. If you trace their pedigrees back they go back to Irish and English imports just like other Pit Bulls. You can have a rednose Pit Bull from almost any bloodline, you can have a rednose Pit Bull from non rednose parents depending on what genes they are carrying, you can have rednose and blacknose pups in the same litter.
Rednose dogs were bred for their looks, because they are a special breed of Pit Bull
Rednose dogs like other Pit Bulls were bred for pit fighting ability and working. Some of the original rednose dogs we see are from the dogs called the "Old Family Red Nose" strains. These dogs were bred for their gameness and were said to possess a lot of it. Hemphill, Wallace, Lightner, Williams, Feeley, Wilder, McCoy and other rednose breeders fought their dogs. Since this has been outlawed Pit Bulls are now bred for legal work, activities and conformation. This includes rednose Pit Bull and any other color Pit Bull.
