Your Pit Bull can be registered with a reputable registry ONLY if their parents were registered with that registry or if they are registered with another acceptable registry.
If your dog is UKC registered he can also be ADBA register and vice versa. The same goes if he is AKC registered he can be UKC or ADBA registered.
No Pit Bull can be AKC registered if he is UKC/ADBA because they have are a completely closed registry. This means that only dogs who's parents are AKC can be registered with them. The only exception is a dog imported from a foreign registry or dogs being excepted for FSS (foundation stock) registration or are going to become an AKC recognized breed. Once the FSS reaches a certain number they will close registration.
To register you must fill out a a single registration application. Provide at least a 3 generation pedigree for your dog and a copy of the other registration certificate from which the pedigree information was obtained. If your dog is not registered with another registry but the parents are registered with the one you are applying to you will need the registration numbers for the parents and the owners signature.
You can apply to an Open Registry which means they will register any dog, if it is registered with a another registry or not, if it has a pedigree or not. Nothing is done to verify if the pedigree is true or if the dog is purebred. This is not recommended as it is almost pointless due to the fact that anything can be made up and accepted. You are paying them to print you a registration certificate even though they can't provide you with anything the other registrations can. Like pedigree research and local breed clubs.
