A pedigree shows your dogs ancestors in generations.
1st Generation is parents, 2nd generation is grand parents and 3rd generation is great grand parents, ect.
If you have an ADBA registered APBT and their is AST in his pedigree the AST will be indicated by *Dog Name, if he has SBT in his pedigree it will be indicated by **Dog Name.
The pedigree can be very importing in selecting a breeding dog, a show or working prospect or even a pet.
Pedigree is generally unimportant when choosing a pet for most people, but if you have a well bred dog from a good breeder as a pet you are less likely to encounter temperament or health issues. These are usually important to pet owners who want a good family pet that is trustworthy. The breeder will also be there to answer any questions about your new pet and help you. They will also be familiar with the dogs in the pedigree and know how they produce to fit in your life style.
